Season is upon us again and all of us at Lovers Key Resort extend a warm welcome to all our winter friends. 

During this time of year, guest’s have the chance to enjoy some of SW Florida’s annual festivals and activities.  This is a big year for the Edison Estates as they celebrate 70 years of pageantry with the 70th Annual Edison Festival of Light Parade.   As the largest evening parade in the Southeast, the Festival of Lights boasts top rated Florida marching bands, large beautifully decorated floats, talented dance troops and more.  Read more about the various events held over a three week period in this issue.

Fort Myers is home to two major league baseball team’s spring training facilities:  Minnesota Twins and the 2007 World Series Champions Boston Red Sox.  Towards the end of February and all throughout March, the city hosts some of the best pre-season baseball games.  Take a look at their schedule included in the newsletter and consider taking in a game or two while visiting Lovers Key Resort.

The location of the Lovers Key Resort has provided our guests many opportunities to view our friendly local manatees in the wild.  We have seen quite a few manatees pass by our windows on their way to some of the coves within the mangrove islands surrounding the resort as well as Lovers Key State Park.  Learn more about these gentle sea creatures that inhabit the beautiful waters around Lovers Key Resort.
